International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Science
IAS 2023, the 12th IAS Conference on HIV Science, will invite about 250 volunteers to take part in the Volunteer Programme for the in-person component of the conference in our state capital of Brisbane from 23 to 26 July 2023.
The IAS Conference on HIV Science is the world’s most influential meeting on HIV research and its applications. This biennial conference presents the critical advances in basic, clinical and operational HIV research that move science into policy and practice. Through its open and inclusive programme, the meeting sets the gold standard of HIV science, featuring highly diverse and cutting-edge research.
Together with hosting the Positive Lounge, a welcoming space for positive people who attend the IAS conference to relax and recharge within the conference, QPP is working closely with the IAS to ensure the PLHIV community have multiple pathways to be involved in the conference, and it’s associated events in Queensland.
One of the best (and free) ways to be involved with the conference in Brisbane this July is to volunteer, and this includes helping us staff the Positive Lounge, together with other opportunities.
In recognition of the time and effort volunteers dedicate to the IAS 2023 Volunteer Programme, volunteers will receive free access to conference sessions when not on duty, as well as lunch each working day. Individuals who fulfil their volunteer commitment will also be awarded a certificate of appreciation and offered a free one-year IAS membership.
On top of these benefits, many past volunteers at IAS conferences have formed long lasting friendships and connections with others from not just in their host countries, but globally. We’d encourage anyone interested in giving a little of their time for these wonderful benefits to apply as soon as possible because volunteer positions are limited.
