Our RAPID Clinics

QPP’s community RAPID clinic provides fast, free testing for HIV as well as other STIs. They offer rapid, accurate testing for HIV that uses just a drop of blood from your fingertip, with results in about 20 minutes.

RAPID welcomes everyone, including LGBTIQ+ people, sex workers, people who use drugs, and all other members of the community. Our clinic is inclusive and has gender-neutral facilities.

Visiting RAPID is totally free. You don’t need Medicare, or health insurance.

RAPID makes HIV testing fast and easy.

Whether you already know plenty about HIV or it’s your first time, you’re welcome to visit for testing, a chat, and referrals to other community services like counselling that you may find useful.

We can spend as much time as you need to talk about your health and answer your questions. Everything you tell us is confidential.

If you have a positive screening result, it’s no big deal! We’ll take a blood sample to confirm the result and support you through the process. HIV isn’t scary like it used to be. New treatments are easy to take, have less side effects than in the past, and are very effective. Most people in Australia with HIV who take medication are very healthy and have an undetectable viral load, which prevents sickness and prevents passing on the virus.

Home Testing

If you don’t live near us, or you’d prefer to test privately, you can order a home test. You’ll receive the simple kit discreetly in the mail.

When To Test

How often you test is up to you and depends on your sexual activity. It’s a good idea to get into the habit of a sexual health check at least every year, even if you’re in a monogamous relationship.

Testing Options In Queensland

You have many options for HIV testing. Any doctor can refer you for a laboratory HIV test using a blood sample. There are a number of other options including home testing and dedicated clinics.
