Lived experience speakers for Queensland World AIDS Day 2024
We are seeking passionate and inspiring individuals to share their lived experiences of HIV for this year’s World AIDS Day events across Queensland. Your voice can make a powerful impact in raising awareness, breaking down stigma, and fostering understanding within the wider community.
Why Share Your Story?
Your lived experience offers a unique perspective that helps others to better understand the realities of living with HIV. By sharing your journey, you will:
- Contribute to reducing HIV stigma.
- Educate the public about the importance of HIV prevention, treatment, and support.
- Empower others living with HIV to share their stories and seek support.
- Inspire empathy and understanding within the community.
What We’re Looking For: We are seeking speakers who:
- Are comfortable and confident in sharing their HIV story in public settings.
- Have experience in or are interested in public speaking.
- Are available for events leading up to and on World AIDS Day, 1st December 2024.
- Are willing to participate in media opportunities (optional).
Key Dates:
- Events will take place across Queensland leading up to World AIDS Day.
- We will work with selected speakers to provide support, guidance, and media training (if needed).

- Your background and experience.
- Why you’d like to participate as a speaker.
- Your availability for events in November and December.
